Keith was born in England and came to Canada as a child. When he was 10 he started lessons in classical violin. At 15, he picked up the mandolin and pursued an interest in ethnic music - Eastern European, Greek, Gypsy etc. In the early 90's, his left hand was crushed in an accident and he stopped playing until 2005, when he regained enough use of his fingers to play again.

In 2006, he joined Comhaltas (pronounced COAL tus) and developed a repertoir of traditional Irish tunes, gradually performing more and more frequently with the group and eventually as a solo performer.
